Welcome to the Stratford Lions Club in Victoria, Australia
Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world every day because they share a core belief - to serve their community.
Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness, but we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.
We provide a unique alternative to service club membership and we have a few, interesting projects on the boil, and in keeping with the club ethic they are humanitarian, fun and manageable.
We are responsible for the Chapel at the Lion's Licola Village and the "Rose Memorial Walk." Enjoyable working bees are held at Licola to maintain these two areas with fun stayovers included.
Providing and delivering firewood to residents of Stratford and surrounds is an important part of our community contributions. We also provide services to the needy in our community, doing chores, lawnmowing, rubbish removal, painting and what ever else is required.
We also run an active youth program with "Youth of the Year", "Junior Public Speaking" and "Youth Serving Our Community" as three of our mainstays.
A lot of the money we raise is through our regular "Saturday Morning Barbecue" in the main street of Stratford.
We would love for you to join us if you have a little spare time, and an interest in helping your community.
